Hi folks. A thread started on the listserv that I wanted to capture here.
Where can I find or does anybody have a rental contract for hiring out a co-op community space?
We are starting to host yoga and art classes as well as rent out the space for holiday parties so looking for a contract that covers insurance, deposits etc
Thanks for your time!

First of all, I'd like to welcome former Food Co-op Initiative organizer, Jake Schlacter, to CGN's team. He will be our primary website programmer for awhile and he's already been able to attend to a few glitches.

Funds raised on this day for the Bowers Fund are used to help new food co-ops and groups forming food co-ops get the training and education that are vital to opening and success! Some of the co-ops that have benefitted from a Howard Bowers Day grant are New Orleans, South Philly, Monadnock, Fairbanks, Friendly City, Stone's Throw, and Company Shops. To participate, pick a day in October and donate 3% of proceeds to the Bowers Fund or make a flat donatio Read more »

I am posting this on behalf of our Store Ops Manager Kiersten. She writes:
We are a co-op of about 25 employees about half of which are part-time and do apx 2.5 million in annual sales. We have been very liberal with allowing people to take time off—in excess of their paid vacation, especially the part-timers. It seems that staff has been very happy about the liberal vacations but is becoming less and less happy about being scheduled to fill in for each other to fill those gaps in the schedule that are created by taking time-off.
