While doing some soul searching at 20 years old and facing federal prison for opposing the Vietnam War, it dawned on me that my life had to be about working for what benefited the Earth and reducing suffering however possible.
So with that in mind, I spent many years in central Missouri working with community radio (KOPN) and protecting a large piece of land now called Maya Creek Ecovillage. My son, Tao, is continuing that work.
Lived briefly in San Diego, Brisbane Australia, and Sonoma County, CA before moving to Piney Woods Country Life School in Mississippi in 1987 or so.
Shortly after moving to Mississippi I began volunteering at Rainbow Co-op, unloading trucks and later serving on the board.
I learned to use computers in 1982 while trying to organize Mississippians to oppose the construction of a couple nuclear power plants and now for over twenty years, with my wife Charlotte, we have operated Computer Co-op, which repairs computers and fixes computer problems.
In 2009 we started another business, Fair Trade Green, which sells fair trade products from around the world, energy efficiency products as well as products that promote positive messages.
I went through a three year training at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Northern California and with my wife teach meditation, stress reduction and accelerated evolution at a local college.
Charlotte and I have been trained by Al Gore to give presentations on climate change and have done over 30 of these across the state.
We've been trained by the Pachamama Alliance to do Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposiums and have done several of these.
My daughter, Maya has graduated from Harvard and is working in education.
We run a few miles every morning, base our diet around organic vegetables and fruit, growing a lot of our own food.
I hope together we can really turn our communities toward greater health for people, all life and the Earth.
