Mead Stone has been River Market’s GM for just over a decade. He has been in the grocery industry since 1964 where he bagged groceries for customers. He was pretty good at that. He stocked, worked nights and wrote grocery orders through his years at the U of M. He was made a store manager. After 18 years, he went to a different company where he trained, set up, and opened stores; managed a couple of them; and eventually became the director of productivity. He was serving on River Market’s Board of Directors when the GM position at River Market opened up and has worked there with great enjoyment ever since.
