Full Time with Benefits - 40 hours/week.
Our next Assistant Produce Manager will work with the department manager to ensure that we continue to develop positive relationships with our growers and consumers while maintaining a successful and visually appealing retail sales environment where quality and values are emphasized. This is MUCH more than an entry level management position. If you don't have an interest in developing your skills and becoming prepared for our future growth and yours, this is not the job for you!
Located in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, (Go ahead, Google Great Barrington) our co-op is in the center of a town comprised of locally owned and emphasized businesses, a healthy connection to the land from both an agricultural and recreational perspective, and an invested community.
Prior experience in a retail environment, knowledge of Produce, community relations, inventory controls, and negotiating are all desirable. Because much of the work is visual, a knack for playing with colors and shapes and creating visually appealing presentations is very desirable. Open availability and the ability to work in a physically challenging environment is a requirement. Furthermore,we will expect a sense of urgency in the workplace, the ability to communicate with others, a personality that is comfortable in public settings, and an ability to embrace and accept change as an opportunity to learn and grow, not something to be feared. Expect to work hard, develop lasting relationships and have fun while being treated in a respected and valued manner.
