CGN Membership Levels

Eligibility

In order to be eligible to join CGIN, a retail food co-op must qualify as a member to one of the following organizations:

  • National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA)
  • National Cooperative Grocers Association (NCGA)

Associate members must be members of NCBA and pay annual dues to CGIN.

All membership fees or dues are assessed and payable on a calendar year basis. To negotiate special rates for joining after July 1, contact CGN.

Membership Levels

Enhanced Level Membership

One simple membership fee allows a retail food co-op full access to the CGN site: over 2,000 library items, Ask Cooper surveys, deli recipes, photo gallery exhibits, CGN member profiles, and Monitoring policy data (when available). Also, this fee covers a co-op’s board of directors’ subscription to the board listserve, as well as the ability to subscribe the appropriate number of staff to CGN’s specialized discussion groups (HR, Membership and Marketing, Operations, Deli, IT and HABA). It also provides the co-op with a 10% discount on purchases from the CGN site (Livable Wage Model and NCGA toolboxes). This level is designed for stores over four million with numerous staff using the CGN site.

Basic Level Membership

With this level, your co-op will receive full access to the CGN site, Ask Cooper surveys, deli recipes, and photo gallery exhibits. You have access to the CGN member profile data, access to Monitoring policy data, when available, and covers two specialized listserve subscriptions (see listserve page for each listserve’s subscription requirements). Additional listserve subscriptions available for a nominal fee per year. Start-ups and stores under $4 million can request a scholarship grant. This level is designed for retail food co-op start-ups and small retail food co-ops with sales under $4 million dollars.

Associate Level

With Associate level, your non-retail organization has one simple membership fee for full access to the CGN site: over 2,000 library items, Ask Cooper surveys, deli recipes, photo gallery exhibits, CGN member profiles, and Monitoring policy data (when available). This level is designed for any non-retail organization providing professional services to food co-ops that wishes to join CGIN.

Individual Associate Level

With Individual Associate level, you have one simple membership fee for full access to the CGN site: over 2,000 library items, Ask Cooper surveys, deli recipes, photo gallery exhibits, CGN member profiles, and Monitoring policy data (when available). Also, this fee covers one specialized discussion group subscription. Additional listserve subscriptions available for a nominal fee per year. This level is designed for any individual providing professional services to food co-ops that wish to join CGN.

Enhanced Associate Sponsor Level

With Associate Sponsor level, your organization has one simple membership fee that covers sponsorship of the CGN site and full access to the site: over 2,000 library items, Ask Cooper surveys, deli recipes, photo gallery exhibits, CGN member profiles, and Monitoring policy data (when available). Also, this fee covers an organization’s board of directors’ subscription to the board listserve, as well as the ability to subscribe the appropriate number of staff to CGN’s specialized listserves (HR, Membership and Marketing, Operations, Deli, IT and HABA). It also provides the co-op with a 10% discount on purchases from the CGN site (Livable Wage Model and NCGA toolboxes). Sponsorship provides your organization with online recognition and listing, your logo in CGN’s Annual Newsletter and Facebook promotions. This level is designed for any non-retail organization providing professional services to food co-ops that wishes to join and sponsor CGN. 2012 price: $900
