Meat, Cheese & Deli Manager – Full Time, Salaried Position
Opened in 2004, Just Food Co-op has over 2800 members and sales projected over $6 million in 2015. Located in beautiful southern Minnesota, Northfield is a vibrant community with colleges, farmers markets, a flourishing arts and music scene, and of course, a growing network of sustainable farmers.
Responsibilities include: Develop and maintain in-house prepared foods program; Negotiate with suppliers; Purchase products for department according to store product guidelines; Hire and develop department staff; Develop and implement short and long term department goals; Manage department financials including labor, margin, and pricing; Work with Marketing Manager to develop marketing plan for department.
Qualifications include: Experience managing a professional kitchen environment; Ability to handle multiple demands; Knowledge of natural foods and special dietary needs; Demonstrated ability to prioritize and follow through on commitments; Demonstrated ability to frequently lift, push, pull and move items up to 50 lbs. in a safe and appropriate way.
Schedule includes: 40+ hours per week; Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, days and evenings.
