Position Title Grocery Coordinator
Base Salary $12.25 per hour
Hours Full time - 35 hours per week
Summary The Mariposa Grocery Coordinator has the ultimate responsibility for all functions of the Grocery department, is a fully engaged member of the Operations Committee which co-manages the enterprise and, is an active member of the Staff Collective.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Exceptional interpersonal skills including customer service, conflict resolution, creative problem solving, crisis prevention and intervention, critical thinking, and decision making
Supervision of Purchasing Coordinator, Buyers and, Lead Receiver
Development and management of department budget
Experience in hiring, supervision, ongoing development and evaluation of grocery employees
Full engagement as a responsible member of the Co-op’s co-management structure, seeking to proactively and consistently improve the Co-op
Co-development and maintenance of marketing plan including researching new or alternative sources of supply and the purchase of products according to plan guidelines
Effective day to day grocery management including accurate up to date pricing and signage, labeling, and price look ups at the register
Works with POS specialist and IT to ensure regular updates
Able to establish procedures for receiving most major packaged grocery/bulk deliveries and other deliveries
Proficient with basic Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word), and staff scheduling software
Attention to details and industry standards for clerical and accounting record keeping
Knowledge of Cooperative Grocery principles and experience working in a cooperative environment
Ability to understand and maintain compliance with state, local and Mariposa personnel and labor policies and standards
Able to maintain security and safety in the Mariposa store for customers and employees
Engage with other co-ops and stores for price comparisons, product and merchandising ideas; attending trade shows and conferences as appropriate
The Grocery Coordinator reports to the Mariposa Staff Collective, Operations Committee and Board of Delegates.
