http://www.nolafood.coop STOCKER/RECEIVER JOB DESCRIPTION PURPOSE: To assist the Dept Manager and department buyers in meeting objectives for sales, margin, inventory turns, labor and customer service by stocking, receiving, and presenting a clean & organized product displays. STATUS: Reports to Assistant General Manager Full time or Part time as needed by the co-op. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) RECEIVING & INVENTORY a) Ensure accurate, up-to-date prices of grocery products in POS system and shelf tags. b) Handling returns and obtain credit from suppliers for products, as director by Dept. Manager or Buyers. c) Participate inventory counts for designated product departments as scheduled. 2) MERCHANDISING a) Maintain end-caps and other in-store displays, according to established standards for appearance, variety and ease of shopping and stocking. b) Ensure shelves/bins/coolers are fully stocked and rotated for freshness in accordance with stocking priorities set forth by Grocery Manager and Department Buyers. c) Provide assistance with special orders and other prompt, friendly, courteous customer service. 3) DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE a) Fulfill department protocol for items to be returned to suppliers. See that unsellable items are properly disposed of. Keep accurate shrinkage records. b) Maintain grocery department shelves, displays, aisles and storage areas in clean, orderly condition, meeting health department standards. c) Ensure maintenance of department equipment in working order. Advise General Manager of equipment problems or needs. 4) GENERAL a) Attend department meetings and storewide meetings. b) Perform other tasks assigned by Dept Manager or General Manager. QUALIFICATIONS - Grocery experience preferably in a natural food store. - Organized, consistently follows through on commitments. - Communications skills—good verbal communication & listening. - Ability to lift 50+ pounds. - Regular, predictable attendance. - Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job.
