Instructor Payment Strategies (Education Geek Discussion)

Our Educational offerings are growing and growing and growing. Growth in number of classes offered, growth in fees collected (based on growth and increase in pricing), growth in requests for classes. We are in need of identifying additional instructors, as I cannot keep up with the interest. So...What and how do you pay your instructors? So far I have done a combination of: 1. Volunteering: Prep time and instruction time is recorded as Member/Owner Volunteer hours which turns into a store discount (Great when it works, but we are not actively advertising our Volunteer program for legal reasons and so this is a difficult sell) 2. $25 stipends offered to instructors of our Exploring Foods Program (classes for children aged 3-7) 3. A % of class fees - this is negotiated with each instructor and usually ends up being about 60% of fees taken in. The rest of the class fee covers use of space, marketing and class supplies. Each of these has worked but the lack of structure leaves me dreading setting up classes with a new instructor rather than being excited! The above options are explained in the Instructor Guidelines document I have uploaded to this discussion thread.
