People's Food Co-op (La Crosse, WI, and Rochester, MN)

Since its beginnings in 1973, People's Food Cooperative has grown to a membership of nearly 2800 households and is in its fourth location. In 2004, we completed an expansion and remodeling project to increase to 12,000 square feet. This exciting expansion incorporates a restaurant, a new classroom and an opportunity to expand our product line. Our restaurant, hackberry's, offers a seasonal menu with a variety of ethnic flavors.
