It examines conversions of grocery stores in Placerville, Cal., and Cummington, Mass. The Placerville Co-op and Old Creamery Co-op are now up and running, but the case study offers many cautionary lessons, as well as examples and questions for the rest of the food co-op sector about future conversion efforts.
